We are participating providers with Medicare and the other insurance companies listed above. Pricing will be determined by the fee schedule that insurance company determines. It is not possible to determine these until the completion of the visit, as the price is dependent on many variables.
We also ask that our patients understand their benefit packages because once we bill your insurance company we all become committed to the price listed on the Explanation of Benefits. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you comprehend your coverage because you will be held liable for any charges that are rejected because of a contractual misunderstanding.
2. What is a D.O. and why did you choose this route?
A D.O is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, which, along with M.D.s, is one of the two kinds of licensed physicians qualified to practice medicine in all 50 states.
I chose this route because I am committed to helping my patients develop lifestyles conducive to preventing disease rather than just treating symptoms. As a D.O., I have received extra training in the musculoskeletal system, which allows me to have a better understanding of the ways illnesses and injuries affect each other and also gives me an added tool of using osteopathic manipulative treatments when appropriate.
The personal touch of a D.O. allows me to have a greater understanding of your needs and the best approach to treating your “whole person.”
3. What services do you provide?
We provided services typical of most family medicine offices for all ages – newborn through grandparent age. This includes evaluation of new problems (sinus problems, knee pain, stomach pain etc.), management of chronic diseases (high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease etc), preventive care including annual well woman exams, and immunizations.
4. What if I need to see a specialist?
Family medicine encompasses a wide scope of health issues and many issues can be addressed right in my office. However, when a specialist is needed, I will refer you to one of my trusted colleagues in the Denver Metro Area. I will also do my best to refer you to a physician on your insurance, but it is always best to double check this yourself with either your insurance company or the specialist’s office.
5. What if I need to be hospitalized?
The on-call physician, or hospitalist, at the hospital of your choice will be responsible for your care during your hospital stay and you will return to our care when you are discharged. I work most closely with the hospitalists at Parker Adventist Hospital but will communicate with any hospital of your choice.
6. Can I communicate with Dr. Makaroff via email?
You may sign up to use our secure patient portal and communicate with our office electronically. Please see our Patient Portal page for more information.
